Default Music Subforum?

Just wondering, with all the music-related threads popping up in the OT forum, as well as the HUGE genre-specific threads, would it be a good idea to move all the music-related threads to a subforum, kind of like the Tech Talk one? Totally understand if the powers that be don't want to; it'd just be a lot easier to follow all the music threads floating around the place.

If you use the "Subscribe to this thread" option under Thread Tools, you can keep track of your favorites. Then under "User CP" they appear as a list.

Part of the problem with subforums is the amount of housekeeping Moderators have to perform moving the inevitable misplaced threads 'n' such. Keep things as low-maintenance for them as possible, because I'm sure they'd like to spend more of their time reading and participating in threads.

Just my two cents.

Yup, plus different subforums tend to reduce traffic and not encourage it, unless there's a critical mass of posts. There's been a rash of music posts recently, but I don't think the volume overall is there to warrant it's own subforum.. yet anyway.

If anything we'd create an entertainment subforum with music, movies, TV, etc.

I actually found all the music threads annoying for some reason. I think if it's a re-occurring thing then a sub-forum might be good personally.

Meh, these things come in trends - one person is reading a thread, gets a thought, and doesn't want to derail the current thread so they start another. They'll die in a few weeks, and 8 months from now it will happen again.

I think the tech one kind of had to happen because there were many people looking for advice but they were getting buried or ignored in the monolithic "official" threads.
