anyone have any south beach hotel reccomendations

Heading to miami for a cruise next month anyone have any south beach hotel reccomendations that don't cost a bloody fortune.

I am booked at a hotel a block from Ocean Drive right now for $200 a night but would love to find something on the beach.

we are booked at the best western south beach on Washington Ave and 11th street at this point.

Friends of mine stayed at Strand last month and said it was very nice. Hotel Victor is another one.. but they are all like $500 US a night so far.

Damn, I wish I could remember the name of the hotel I stayed at -- it was fairly reasonable and pretty nice too. One thing I do remember is I had about the best breakfast I've ever had at a place called News Cafe (or something like that). It was about a block from Liberatci's house pictured above.

when i was in miami i didnt stay at south beach but at a place called coconut grove.

Actually, i'll be in Ft. Lauderdale, which is obviously North of Miami, so i don't know if i'll be anyhelp, but if i see a good deal, i'll let you know;.

i am looking at the Clevelander now.. it is cheap right on the beach but sounds like a huge party hotel.. the reviews are funny the mid 20's years old love it the mid 30's think it is the worst place in the world. the pool bar has dj's and bands playing from 11am to 5am 7 days a week.

Guess it is quite a party spot.

Don't know if the wife will like it but for 1 night it sounds like it should be fun

booked into the Besty Ross... Looks decent. Is on the beach and relativly close to the action but not in the middle of it.

$281 including tax for the night not cheap but not too bad either.
