CBC's new venture into political correctness.

Beyong the obvious title ripoff the clips I have seen on CNN it is typical CBC junk. Boring, joke are lame, people so dumb (white in particular - hey rednecks for GTA enjoyment!) that they are annoying rather than funny.

Premieres Tuesday. Anyone want to do a write-up?

Obvously, the CBC has been promoting the hell out of the show.. and in all the previews, i didn't laugh once. The jokes (like you said) were so lame, and the delivery was brutal.

totally agree. Every joke they showed in the previews was some lame pun. I'm all for promoting multiculturalism but not with BS like this

Sounds like you've already made up you mind without seeing an episode.

However, I agree that the commercials haven't "sold" the show to me and I won't be making a point to catch it. But until I see and episode I won't make any pronouncements.

I'm gonna watch it, the pilot anyway. A couple of the quips I heard on the previews did seem a little stilted.....hopefully they weren't the best lines!

I hate 95% of television shows, but I doubt I will dislike this one more than usual.

It's on after the Mercer Report, so I'll catch it. It looks to be more politically incorrect than correct.

I can think of about 1,000 thiongs I would rather do than watch some lame sitcom, especially a CBC sitcom at that. I've seen the ads, garbage.

I guess I am in the minority because I have found the previews quite funny, I have even laughed out loud...and I do definatley plan to catch the first few episodes of the show to see if it tickles my funny bone.

Being Indian myself (but not Muslim), I find the Indian accent one of the funniest around. Whenever there's an accent on TV, it automatically tickles me. I'll check the show out to see if I can get in a couple laughs. Seinfeld and Kenny Vs. Spenny seem to be the only shows around that do it for me.

Yah, I am going to try and catch the show as well...why not?

Its something different, as evident by the amount of buzz its getting per se. So why not check it out? It could be great or stink. Which is surprising that people in this thread already know it stinks, because no episodes have been shown yet.

Good choices me friend.....Seinfled is a classic and Kenny vs Spenny is about the best comedy ever to come out of Canada.

A show centered in a Saskatchewan gas station probably didn't sound too great either.

I really like that show, but its to the point where i think they are now actors... everything seems "staged".

Funny though.

Yeah the thought has crossed my mind as well.

My fav thought was the bible selling episode where Kenny made Spenny believe his Screenplay was wanted by Robert DeNiro....classic.

I have a cousin who works for CBC and has for years in the advertising department. This is the only show he has ever sent me a link about and it is getting a lot of buzz within the network.

I'll check it out.

Ummm.....Mother Corp. = crap product. So my mind is 99% made up already. I will likely never see an episode but I am curious to see some reactions from people to the show.

So 1% is hanging in the balance here.

So you will always qualify your position on this show then that "other people think it is crap/good (whichever one it turns out to be)", and that you cannot specifically comment on it because you, yourself, have not actually watched it?

Hoz isn't one to actually worry about having an INFORMED opinion - quite the opposite. Why should now be any different?
