Ranking election issues by importance: Poll

An ABC news poll generates a concencus on which election issues carry more importance than others for Americans.

I found this interesting only because "national defence and military" was ranked highest by only 2% in 2000. An indication of an America wholly surprised by 9/11?

In a poll by CBS News in October 2000, the most important problems were Social Security, education and health care. National defense and the military were at 2 percent.

National security issues were picked by 55 percent of Americans as the most important problems facing the nation, according to the poll taken in early October up from 43 percent who named national security issues in an April poll.

Agree or disagree with how Americans are ranking their priorities?

I agree................if selling short the education of their kids and having a pay-as-you-go health system is desirable to americans, all the more power to em.

Considering that their teachers have their annual meetings to talk about everything in the schools and what is going on.........except the students of course.

Their number one priority should be National Secuity because else another 9/11 will happen.
