Nice to get a point versus a team like the Penguins, but the powerplay continues to...well...stink.

Capitals turn in strong performance vs. the AVS...

Demitra contributed 2 pts in his first night as a CAp and Marcus Naslund (3), Daniel Sedin (3) and Zdeno Chara (4) all had big nights. Steve Bernier continued his hot play by putting up 2 pts.. He now is on a 3 game goal scoring streak and a 6 game pt streak.

Holmqvist with his first start of the season... 37 saves on 41 shots... not bad, not bad.

Costly win!!
The Pens finally win a game, but at a very very steep price! After scoring a goal in his very first period as a Penguin Ryan Smyth left the game with an undisclosed injury and is probbaly lost for the season. Smyth fell awkwardly to the boards after hussling to beat out an icing call and had to be carried off the ice. "He won't be playing anytime soon!" is all that Coach Ruff said when asked for a comment. The Pens played a solid all around game and got a great effort between the pipes out of Martin Gerber and Saku Koivu buried the OT winner on the powerplay with only 13 seconds left in the game to give the Pens an important win.

well thats points in 4 straight for the Sabres, against some pretty good teams, although this is a disappointing OT loss given how the Sabres owned the third period. The young guys continue to look good, with a rejuvenated Lombardi and Joffrey Lupul finding some good 2nd line chemistry with Alexander Steen. The Sabres PP is playing better of late as well, but the Oilers were the better team 5 on 5

Canadiens Win vs Divisional Rivals
The Power Play came through tonight as the Canadiens dominated the Senators. The Canadiens went 3-6 on the PP en route to a 5-1 victory over the rebuilding Senators. Keith Tkachuk notched the hat trick, and Martin St.Louis had 3 helpers. Steven Reinprecht score 2 of the power play goals. In total the Habs out shot the Sens 36-17. Patrick Lalime (9-2-2) continued to stand strong allowing Thomas Vokoun to stay well rested.

WINGS SNAP 9 GAME LOSSING STREAK.

And now its a 10 game winless streak. The new look wings continue to have no problems putting the puck in the net. Its keep the puck out that seems to be the problem. It was Malone, Armstrong, Allison leading the charge against the Ducks.

Flames 4 Flyers 2

After a lot of moves this past week, I was pretty sure we were gonna get smoked. Conroy gone, Leclair gone, so much for our pop offence.
Well the young kids stepped up to the plate and off we went.

SOG were 37 for us and 34 for the Flyers. Even our struggling powerplay went 2 for 6. Sometimes I wish I could figure this sim out, then again, maybe I;m too old!

Goalie Statistics

Miikka Kiprusoff (FLA), 32 saves out of 34 shots, W, 17-14-1
Andrew Raycroft (FLY), 33 saves out of 37 shots, L, 10-16-3

Power Play Conversions

FLAMES 2 for 6
FLYERS 0 for 3

Game Stars
1 - Miikka Kiprusoff (FLA)
2 - Lubomir Visnovsky (FLY)
3 - P.J. Axelsson (FLA)

well I knew it had to end sometime lol. didnt think we would stand up well vs the Powerful Habs.

Sens Fall 5-1 in a game that was not even close.

Joe and Kozlov continue thier hot streaks. both getting points on the only goal for the Senators.
