my ultimate woman:
hot...yeah, that's always a plus
intelligent...definately good
sense of humor...that makes life more enjoyable
a flames fan....HUBBA FREAKIN HUBBA
Am I the only guy who finds a girl in a Flames Jersey/shirt/goalie mask to be freakin hot? I mean, seriously: my 2 favorite things in the world, girls...and the Flames...together. It's absolutely stunning. Perhaps I feel this way because any girlfriend I have ever had has either hated hockey, or just been indifferent to it. Well I've had enough!
I've made the mistake of trying to get these girls into hockey before by wasting a good Flames ticket on them instead of bringing along a buddy. Always a mistake I regret at the 5 minute mark of the 1st period when they start talking to me about stuff other than hockey, or text messaging their friends. I want a girl who will yell obscenities with me at the Ref. A girl who will jump up and cheer and high 5 me when the flames score. A girl who knows what an offside is and why the fans are booing. A girl who would rather stay at home and order the PPV game than go out to watch the newest Ben Affleck movie. A girl who will understand why I have to celebrate our anniversary a day early because the real day falls on game day. A girl who gets excited over getting tickets or a Jersey for Christmas and not a spa package.
So, I have made the decision...and this may leave me down the road as an old single bitter man, and as the 21 year old I am today...I can accept that. But from this day forward I will not go out with any girls...unless of course they are hardcore Flames fans as well.
So, is this a dating death wish? or have any guys out there found this extremely hot, yet extremely rare variety of female? I pray they are out there.

all the girls that i've brought to Flames games all got into hockey and subsequently became Flames fans after i brought them to the game. maybe you're doing something wrong? =P
Doesn't matter where they're from either, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea... etc... They've all become hardcore Flames fans. =)

My gf is nearly all the things you described: Hot - check, intelligent - check, good sense of humour - check, loves, understands and follows hockey - check... however, she cheers for the Canucks... Her only fault. I suppose that is what I get for meeting the girl of my dreams while living in the belly of the Canucks beast.
However, that being said, a bit of rivalry can be a GOOD thing for a relationship...

You have to find a girl that is a little more settled in on life if you want to introduce them to something new, something you'd like them to be passionate about. It takes time and energy to learn enough about hockey to get excited about it and that's a commitment they have to be willing to make. If they are juggling the demands of work, school, family, friends, boyfriends, partying, ect., they may not have that time.
To improve your chances, look for girls that have older brothers who played hockey. If they were rink rats, they should already have a basic knowledge about the sport.

I think you should just start hitting on the female Flames fans on this board. It's basically guaranteed that they're hardcore Flames fans. I fit that decription...almost...people just don't laugh at my jokes...
Good luck to you though!

While girls that love hockey are awesome, girls who fake loving hockey as a way to attract guys just ****es me right off. In fact, I'd rather have them say that hate hockey like they know is true.
I could be bitter.

haha... this is a great topic, i think you're making things difficult for yourself, but if you really want a flames girl, there's no reason not to hold out for one. it is, after all, your only life to live.

It goes both ways, if you want your girl to watch hockey with you then you better be prepared to spend time watching "So you think you can dance" on TV, going to interpretive dance performances, going to yoga classes, and doing all other sorts of horrifically lame crap.

Trust me, there are plenty of women out there who hate that crap as much as guys do. Reality TV annoys me so much more than you can even understand.

Not usually, since the majority of them don't actually know anything about hockey anda re only wearing a Flames jersey since it's the cool thing to do, or they think all the hockey players are hot.
Now, if you find a girl that's good looking AND knows her hockey, then you have a find. :P
My girlfriend doesn't really care about hockey, but I'm working on that. I already have her saying that Chris Drury is her favourite player.

So...what do you do with a man who couldn't care less about hockey?
