Default Who hates NYE?

I don't really get the excitement!

It's the end of the holidays, I'm often tired of going out and develop a "can't be bothered attitude."

Then comes the aggravation of having to plan something. Cabs are impossible to find. With that you can kind of expect to be stuck somewhere for some annoying amount of time. Everywhere is generally expensive (even though all my options are free this year)...

People generally try to force it on you "you have to do something it's NYE," which tends to get on my nerves.

It's usually a let down (if you go to some big event).

I think the best New Years I had was at a house party 10 years ago because it was small, had a few of my good friends there and my girlfriend of the time.

Since then, before then... Disappointment!

What are you all doing?

quite often sucks, because many people who rarely drink overindulge.

myself, i've been known to have a few but i just don't feel like babysitting a bunch of idiots due to my higher tolerance.

i have been to exactly one decent new years' eve party and i had thought it was going to suck.

and no i don't buy hype.

New years eve is definitely over hyped. But just because what your doing isn't an epic party doesn't you can't have fun and enjoy yourself. I'll be going to the game tonight and then after heading down to Dixon's. Pretty simple, should be good times. Oh, and I also play to drink copious amounts of beer in that time aswell.

Oh I know.. But it's a hassel to begin with... So making plans and arrangements/driving/tickets/etc. for what is just a reg. night gets on my nerves

May head back to Edmonton after the game so I might be celebrating the countdown on Hwy 2. Can't really go out and get ****ed, unless I get a hotel room near a c-train station.

It ban be the best or the most disappointing. I'm not a huge fan of houseparties since they can be held anytime. I do like the effort a lot of places make for NYE, but a lot of the time it is too expensive or people get too stupid to enjoy. I have had a couple great NYE, but it is hit and miss.

Depends on the company. If you are with a great group of people, you'll have a great time.

I love going to formal NYE parties. With work, school, and what not, I rarely get a chance to get dressed to the nines.

All i'm doin is going to the game, coming home, drinking and watching a movie past midnight.

NYE since 2000 has been ho-hum. I celebrate all the great things I did the years past and look toward the future and hope for more.

That's what it's all about!

I find New Year's Eve to be so overrated. It is simply a change in the final number denoting the year in the record of time we have chosen. It's not that impressive if you ask me. Time continually has its way with us and I don't see how this way is any different. Every New Year's Eve a bunch of yahoos dress up, pay way too much money for watered down drinks and overpriced finger foods while they all jack each other off to the notion of how much better they are than everyone else.

In my younger days I used to head to a local bar and party my arse off. Then it became too expensive with all the cover charges and all that got introduced. Ohhh and waking up the next day with a terrible hangover was no treat either.

Chances are a buddy and I will head to the theatre and catch a flick on the big screen and later to Boston Pizza for a few beers and a pizza.

Yeah I know.......boring!

My girlfriend and I had our plans fall through for tonight, but we are going to the game. If there's no charge, we'll probably head over to the Seanachie or Shillelagh's for a drink and then hump in the new year. I do like the countdown, though. Are there any fireworks in town?

I hate NYE, maybe because I'm usually alone or bored to death with family.

My girlfriend gets on me all the time because I just feel like I can't be bothered to make the hassel and plan stuff out, for something I know is going to be average at best. I mean, sure, I'll probably have fun, but then I think I could have fun sitting at home having a few drinks watching the hockey game then just kicking back relaxing the rest of the night. Maybe play some video games or something. Lazy? Maybe. Who knows. But I see where you're coming from Wookie.

Snuck out to see Blood Diamond. I couldn't believe how packed the theatre was. In fact I hard a hard time finding parking. Was supposed to go to BP's but was too tired and went home and passed out on the couch waiting for New Years to ring in. Now i'm wide awake and can't sleep!

That's all we do. A little get together with family and friends. Nothing special, and that's the way I like it.

We went skydiving in Taupo here in New Zealand to ring int the New Year....It was amazing, and a truly unforgettable experience.

Usually I can't be bothered with them; I hate making NYE plans, especially when every year it's just overhyped and someone goes home with someone who shouldn't be going home with anybody, and everybody gets mad. Ugh.

Give me a NYE Flames game, a nice bottle of red wine, and some shaggin' with the girlfriend. That's enough for me.
