Default Nintendo DS

Anyone else out there roll with a DS?

I got one from my wife for xmas, and couldn't be happier! I now warm my brain up in the mornings with brain age and big brain academy... tonnes of fun and healthy for me, too.

Any other game recommendations out there?

Would it be worth it to grab a wireless card for the unit?

Thanks!

Clubhouse Games is pretty good - has about 50 fun little games to play. Chess, checkers, poker, blackjack, darts, bowling, connect 5, hasami shogi, etc.

Final Fantasy III looks pretty damn good.

I'm insanely bored with my DS Lite.. I've discovered that I hate Japanese RPG's at my age now.. too tedious. Final Fantasy III is the only reason I kept it and I'm bored with that.

I like the device, but not really into the games they have out. They all seem too hokey.

The Super Mario Bros. game is simply awesome.

Lots of other good games... currently enjoying Elite Beat Agents, and want to get into Final Fantasy III. The Mario Kart game and the 3 on 3 basket ball are great fun too. Haven't tried Yoshi's Island DS yet. My friend really likes Portriat of Ruin.

My brother has a PSP and my sister has the DS lite. I like that you can play any Gameboy games on the DS, and the touch screen is pretty cool. It also has voice recognition for a few games, which is also pretty neat.

But, the PSP seems to have more gadgets/gizmos. It can play movies, music etc...

Ultimately, I think I liked the DS more.

Lot's of good games out for the DS. Clubhouse games, as previously mentioned, is well worth a look. New Super Mario Bros. is old time fun. I really enjoyed the Kirby game which surprised me given that it's supposedly a kids game. My son has been enjoying Lego Star Wars 2. It looks pretty good. The thing I find is that even though you could write some of Nintendo's games off as simply kids fluff most of them are downright fun with surprising depth.

I agree with that. Clubhouse Games is totally underrated. One of the best DS games and would be great for parties or groups.

I'm waiting for Opera to be released on Wii, too bad free Wifi coverage isn't great in Calgary.

I have the same feeling, I can't stand Japanese RPGs. I've put away my DS and took out my GBA to play this:

Sort of like oldschool Ultima type games with modern features and classic 2D animation and a western style fantasy RPG. It's great!

Anyway, I don't really play games on my DS as the thing has me bored stiff because I have a flashcart and therefore have basically tried all the games already. For those that want something interesting, go get Trauma Center, it's a great hospital/operation type game.

But otherwise, I usually just read comics or listen to music or watch movies on my DS like this. I use it for C-Train commute mostly.

I find it odd that this, and Trauma Center, two of the games that show off the DS's originality the best, are so hard to find. Why don't they just reprint them.

No idea, maybe they just don't sell well to the N.A. demographic? My friend spent quite a while on eBay trying to get PW.

I had to turn to eBay for a copy of Advance Wars, Dual Strike (a RTS game) which has a fantastic rating from Gamespot.

I bought Tiger Woods on a whim for cheap, and I've turned out to enjoy it a lot. Far better than I thought it'd be.

Overall, I hope Nintendo continues to make less kiddie games, and ease up on the anime characters. It's insanely annoying.

I waffled between a DSL and a PSP, but the battery life and raw cost of the DSL tipped the scales for me.

The Anime RPGs are increasing because Nintendo has finally realized there is a market for it.

Golden Sun was a pretty good game, and the Final Fantasy Series is still by far the best ever created. Personally, I can't wait until Final Fantasy VI comes out on GBA in a few months because that is the greatest video game ever made.

This is what i'm holding onto my DS for and it's not even a DS title.. lol. FFIII looked nice but was way too old school. FFVI I've played on emulators and I like the art style and story... haven't finished it though.

FFVII is still my all time favorite video game. EVER

I really hate the way the GBA games stick out of my DS lite and tear holes in my pockets. They really should have made it a little thicker so it would fit into the slot like the regular DS.

I love my DS. Metroid Prime: Hunters, Animal Crossing: Wild World and Mario Kart are all great games. If anyone is looking for a nice, high quality case for their DS, check out www.play-asia.com. I got a case and some screen protectors there. The prices are pretty good and the shipping is pretty fast. The quality of the products is excellent.

Here is a link that I thought you might like. I do not have a DS so I do not know if these games are good or not but it is the 5 best overlooked DS games of last year. I just found this article and saw this posting and put 2 and 2 together. Link

I love my DS. Phoenix Wright was a great game, Brain Age is a lot of fun. I'm currently playing Castlevania Portrait of Ruin and think it is outstanding. After this I plan on playing Final Fantasy III.

My roommate has Trauma Center and loved it (I've not played it yet). Advanced Wars was also really good.

I can't wait for the next Phoenix Wright game to come out soon. It should be great.
