Early Jackets nominees are
Unsung hero or even Player of the week award
Peter Cajanek GP 5 G 4 A 5 P 9 +/- +5
Peter was very good for the Jackets this past week with 9 points in 5 games. His contributions helped us to a 4-1 record . The only game in which Peter did not collect a point was a game where he got tossed 2:44 into the game for hooking. In all the games where the officiating was somewhat sensible Peter collected points helping us to win games.

^^^Malkin's coming, making his appearance on the Rookie scoring page for the first time after tonight's 4 point game.
He just wanted to spot Penner a few games to make things interesting.

POW: Denis Arkhipov-3 goals, 4 assists.
Unsung hero: Brad Ference-this past week Brad averaged 18 mins of icetime per game, had a goal and an assist. Quietly Brad has become a solid defenceman on brutal defensive team.

I'm nominating Philippe Sauve (65ov)for the unsung hero award. Not becuase he did great all week but because he came in cold after Vokoun went down early in the second period. Stopped 18 of the 19 shots directed his way by the Hurricanes to give the Habs the victory against a team I haven't been able to beat going back to the pre-season tourney.
In the big game against conference and divisional rivals, with the Habs hurting at many levels (Timonen out, Fedorov injured-left game) Jovanovski 97%, Beauchemin 98% Alfredsson 98%) Suave stood tall and provided the victory.

Kinda hard for Radulov to get there when he is still sitting on my ECHL page.

Blues nominees:
Player of the Week:
Alexander Daigle 4 Games Played, 3 Goals, 5 Assists, 8 Points, + 4, 10 Shots, 1 GWG
Unsung Hero of the Week:
Alexander Daigle once again as he had a monster week. Since being paired up with Draper and Bertuzzi, Daigle has been on a scoring rampage. A player that has been passed around alot of times, and unwanted, the Blues purchased Daigle's contract, a measely 500,000, from the Panthers during the off-season. He now fits in well with his team that gave him a chance to shine. His 3 goals, 5 assists, 8 points, +4 rating and 1 game winning goal surely earns him right to be named the Unsung Hero of the Week.
Defenseman of the Week:
Richard Matvichuk 4 Games Played, 2 Goals, 2 Assists, 4 Points, +5 rating, 8 Hits
Goaltender of the Week:
Dominik Hasek 4 Games Played, 3 Wins, 0 Losses, 1 Tie, 2 Shutouts, .943 Save %, 0.67 GAA
All 3 players have excelled this week as the Blues are now unbeaten in their last 5 games to bring them back into the playoff hunt.

I also nominate myself for GM of the week because my team was 4-1. I've never been GM of the week, and well I'm far and away the best looking male GM in the league. I actually make a trade once inawhile, and I didn't bitch about not being allowed to bend over the new agent. Theres lots of other great qualities about me, but I don't want to be here all night.

Wow, Sauve comes in, plays a period or so, and gets Unsung Hero of the Week? Daigle meanwhile has the most points of the week, and gets denied for it and player of the week as well

I can tell you one thing - whining about these awards won't help anyone's cause in terms of winning awards in future weeks.
