It's very late right now...but, Kariya is now a Canuck and Williams is a Penguin. Draft picks were exchanged, including the exciting 1st rounder that came from the Ducks after they made an offer on Trevor Daley.
Williams has a bright future ahead of him and wish him the best. We are excited in welcoming Kariya to our team.
The Penguins needed to try and get the 2nd line going...Kariya is a star player and was not easy to move, but when I looked around the league on a deal that would make sense to myself and the other team involved and the Canucks made sense, they needed a push to get back in the playoff race and I needed one to get back among the top teams. Saku Koivu is happy to have Williams on board and says that the chances of the Pens losing their captain to an eye injury just got a alot smaller. Paul is one of the leagues top players and we wish him the best in Vancouver.
