Default Why is cutting a Mango so freakin tricky?

No, not the user Mango...

But seriously... where should you cut the thing up? Every time I try, It feels like i'm cutting the seed in the middle and I end up chucking a huge chunk of mango connected to the seed.... I try to go Chimpanzee on it and eat the tasty fruit off the seed but it doesn't cut it.

Tips?

You cut as much pulp off as you can, and then eat the remaining
pulp around the seed off the seed itself.

Makes a mess, so if you have kids, they'll love it.

The eating of a good mango is a lot like a successful marriage.

Neither is a successful marriage but both involve lots of feeling out before the first cut begins.

Go to the link someone gave previously. The first step about cutting the mango on each side of the flat disc in the middle is perfect. Unless you want to use the mango in salad or something else, forego all other steps.

Simply take a spoon, scoop out the flesh with a spoon, and slurp up all the juices. Then, cut as much flesh off the remaining disc and eat it off the skin. Lick hands when done, to get every drop of juice. Now take the disc and eat what flesh you can off of it. You will get pith in your teeth and will have to floss after, but it will be worth it))

Mangos have to be the best fruit this side of heaven!!!

I always find myself just carving somewhere close to the huge seed they have in the middle and cut the part i carved out... and have someone grab the seed and just eat it.
