Pending league approval the Columbus Blue Jackets have agreed to send Adam Hall, Ossi Vaananen, Andy Rogers, and a 3rd round pick to the Calgary Flames in exchange for veterans Adrian Aucoin and Pierre Turgeon and 4.5 million in cash. We give up a lot of age in this deal, but we do feel that we got some additional help for today. Aucoin can log a lot of minutes for us on the backend and should be able to combine with Niedermayer to run a pretty good powerplay. Turgeon gives us another top 6 option at forward who can score a few goals and act as a set up guy. The Howe has 9 teams who are pretty closely matched and we felt that we needed to find a way to make a couple upgrades to keep us in the playoff picture.

We wish our departed players the best excecpt when they play us of course, and thank Flames GM Sample00 (who actually calls him that Axel is way cooler) for the negotiations in getting this deal done.
