Important point about skill amounts...
The software is a bit quirky and the visible #'s behind the skill aren't always consistant.
However a single instance of someone giving skill always shows up as a larger number. So one positive skill might show up as 6 or 7, while one negative might show up as -3 or -7.. that's just the way the software works (I can't change it).
It's not that someone chose to give a big # for a seemingly small thing, it's just that's the minimum granularity of the system. The thresholds for the ratings takes that into account, so rather than the levels being 1 5 10 or something they're much larger.
Hope that helps clear up some things, I would have posted this to the FAQ (and I will have to add it), but I thought this deserved it's own post.
