If Air Canada of all companies can seperate my bike from the rest of the luggage so it didn't go down the conveyor due to it's size I have no doubt that any airline would be able to locate the flag drapped casket of a soldier and bring it to a more acceptable area. OK, then my reasoning behind this is flawed. I said the above under the impression all luggage from the cargo hold is taken down a conveyor unloader. If I'm wrong, then yes, I can see everyones point.
edit: Question: At what point on the conveyor system did they see the casket? Seems that it had to have been in the public view, so I assumed it was at the point closest to aircraft. I don't see how a casket can even fit through the sorting conveyor system that is out of the publics view. Plus they mention "because you realize what was coming out of the plane…"
I guess what I'm getting at is... if they saw it while being unloaded, then I can live with that. How do they know what happened with it the rest of the way?
