I am doubting the police are all that concerned with solving this burglary case.

I wonder if that was the purpose of the break in. Maybe the person who did knew of the person's secret.

I dunno, if you know someone possesses child-porn, you can probably just report it without needing to go through the logistics of B&E. The police would hopefully take such an accusation very seriously even without video evidence.

It says he pleaded guilty, which is good, but if he hadn't, what's to stop him from claiming the burglar set it all up?

Who needs a search warrant? Secretly pay a homeless guy to break into a suspect child pornographer's home and go through his stash. Just make sure no one ever finds out you paid the burglar...

I doubt it, need a lot more evidence before those accusations can turn into a search warrent.

Somehow I doubt the burglar had enough time to download 13,000 images that night...

I don't think I've ever seen this embarrassment ever say a good thing about Canada but . . . . . . he apparently did yesterday:

It doesn't really sound like a bugalar to me. If all that was stolen was the video camera. And the video camera had images of Child Porn and home videos of the accussed child porn collection. Sounds like somebody knew this guy had this material and broke in with the sole purpose to produce evidence for the police. The police do need evidence before they can obtain a search warrant. The whole bugalar angle just seems like a way for the media to sensationalize the whole thing.
