Default Rowdy Roddy Piper diagnosed with Cancer

http://www.wwe.com/inside/news/pipercancer

Fortunately it's Hodgkin’s lymphoma which is very treatable.

No, that was Hackshaw Jim Duggan. He's actually back in the WWE right now. Roddy Piper was the scottish guy who wore a kilt. He actually was tag team champions with Ric Flair but they had to drop the titles in Europe so he could come back to see what was wrong which was when they found the cancer.

yup and a cousin of Bret Hart's

Interesting story, but Hacksaw also went through cancer a few years ago, thats why he has a massive scar on his side from where they took out a kidney.

He was born in Saskatoon I believe but grew up in Manitoba. He lived in The Pas where I live and Dauphin and then moved to Winnipeg to train to become a wrestler.

Here's a bio on him:

Ok...cuz my brother's girlfriend's from the Pas. Sorry if I sound like a dick, I've never been in that part of Manitoba so I don't know how big a town it is (thought it might be one of those 'everyone knows eachother' places.

aw poor Piper......well it's good that it's a treatable form of Cancer with a better rate of survival than the other types of cancers.

I remember being younger and watching one of the Hart brothers die in a tragic way during a live pay per view wrestling event. Are the Harts from Calgary?

You dont sound like a dick at all. It's kind of weird I wouldnt have heard of the Hillmans because it's not very big here and pretty much everybody has heard of every family.

Yes..the Harts from Calgary..although the most famous members have either passed away(Stu and Helen and Owen) and Bret is living in Italy with his new wife.

the WWE has a anti drug policy now but the penalties are not harsh on their "stars" since they need them to be on tv to make revenue.

Lets face it...its steroids. We will watch in awe over the next few years as men in their prime and supposedly fit as a fiddle start dropping off the earth.
These guys all have square jaws, muscle mass that is impossible without some type of help, and Im sure other issuses we dont know of.

Are these the types you want to put on a pedestal?

I think we would have already started seeing the effects to a greater extent. In the 1980's all these guys did roids and I guess we are starting to see some effects, but if just 2 of these guys from the 80's Piper and Duggan have gotten cancer I don't think thats too much different than the ration of non roids users...
