Default Where to donate jackets?

I was looking for something in my basement yesterday and I found a box of old winter jackets that I haven't worn in some time, nor will again. With the weather being like it is, I want to get these to some place that will distribute them to those that need them.

Where is the place I can take them where it will quickly get to people? The Mustard Seed? The Drop-in Centre? Some other shelter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Keep warm, everybody!

Rocky Mountain YMCA. They keep a warm clothes room for people who come out unprepared.

edit: you can also ask to donate them to the Mountain Haven program, which gives them to women and children who have experienced abuse. I'm not sure who the best person to contact for that is, but I can find out if you like...PM me if interested.

Well phone them. Both of the agencies you mentioned are wonderful. BUT Calgary Co-op, Safeway etc, a couple of weeks ago, had bins for donation of winter outerwear. Phone them too to see where theirs gets donated to.

you can take them anywhere basically to any community agency. they will take them.

downtown area - drop in, the seed, inn from the cold, salvation army, CUPS, YWCA, etc etc etc.

could go on and on....just phone the city of calgary, they can tell you some suggestions... (I think the 311 line or whatever it is?).

Cheers.

The Drop In centre will definately take them from what i've heard. They deal with the homeless on a daily basis.
