wow, I think I may have dressed the weakest Sabre lineup in 4 years, and Curtis freakin' Sanford steals it in OT...more if I can recover from the shock

SABRES 2 HABS 1 (OT)
Vrana and Sanford steal the show

This was a big win for the Sabres, having lost badly to the Lightning in more ways than one on Saturday night when first line centre Mike Modano went down with an injury, joining fellow top line forward Joffrey Lupul in the pressbox. With the team struggling and injured, coach Ron Wilso decided to shake things up and dress back up goalie Curtis Sanford to wonderful results against the Strong Habs.

While the Habs held a strong edge in play early on, Petr Vrana, just recalled Sunday afternoon from Rochester, scored an unassisted powerplay goal, to boost the Sabres dreadful PP results. This goal almost held up as the winner, until late in the game when Daniel Alfredsson sprung out of the penalty box and setup the tying goal. Nikolishin then went a little loopy for Buffalo taking a penalty, giving Montreal a chance to win in the dying minutes but the Sabres held their ground.

In the OT, both teams took a penalty, and the Sabres found themselves with essentially only forwards on the ice. This did not stop Gelinas, Lombardi and Fedotenko the teams makeshift 2nd line from scoring the game winner in exciting fashion.

Close game for the Leafs but couldn't get a point against Minny.

Turco played well but it wasn't enough. Not enough offense for the Leafs. Where has the 2nd line been all season? Datsyuk isn't performing like he did last year eventhough he has better wingers.

Wild Squeek By Leafs

The Minnesota Wild gutted out a 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs on Sunday as offensive chemsitry continues to elude the team.

On Sunday, the squad was paced by some of the lesser lights on the team as Mikael Samuelsson and Fred Meyer both scored the first goals in Minnesota silks. Nik Kronwall, who is quietly putting together a solid rookie campaign, notched his 5th goal of the season to round out the scoring.

Head Coach Andy Murray noted that once again goaltedning was the key.

"Right now, and for the last couple of weeks Nabby's been our best player almost every night".
