Hi guys, I am trying to compile some data for my website (yes, the one in my sig). I came up with a new rating system that has to do with a glass of water asian restaurants serve you. The way the rating system works is to determine how long it takes for you to get your glass of water. Asian restaurants are notorious for taking forever to bring you your water, but there are exceptions.

What I would like you to do is this. Next time when you're at an asian restaurant, note the name of the restaurant and roughly how long it took for your water to come. If possible, make note of how long it took in minutes. So if it took, 2 minutes and 42 seconds, just round it up to 3 minutes.

EDIT: Also, if you can note the clarity and cleaness of the water and glass, that would be great!

Some great suggestions guys. Here's some things to look out for
- how long it took the water to come in minutes?
- Is the glass clean, full, waiters finger in it?
- how many times did you have to ask for the water?
- what is the name of the restaurant

(Optional things to look for):
- Glass size

Well I was at Chinese Kitchen an hour ago and the water came in under a minute. The urge to poo came about 7 minutes after the first bite.

Why don't you drink tea like every other asian in the restaurant? hehe.

You should also include where the waiter is the holding the glass when he hands it to you. I wont' drink it if he touches the top part of the glass without a straw. I highly advise other people to do the same.

Do you care about glass sizes to? I friggin hate some Asian restaurants that give you those little Dixie cup sized plastic cups that almost resemble a shot of water

Currently, the record for worse water service is being held by a vietnamese restaurant. A friend of mine has been to this place in total of 5 times. Everytime he is there, he spends an average of 1 hour dining there. He has ordered a glass of water every time, and it has never arrived. He has asked for the water a total of 16 times combined. Averaging 3 times a visit.

Good suggestion as well. I know what you mean. and sometimes, those plastic cups have chewed up rims...eww!

I never drink the pre-poured "tea"-looking pee they serve at those HK-style restaurants, and the waitresses always stick their fingers into the glasses when carrying two/four at a time to your table. Some people like to use it to wash the chopsticks but I think it only made it worse if you do that haha...

Thanks to everyone for taking some time to do this. I started the water rating system years ago, and people seem to have found it amusing, but it was kinda random with no set guidelines or rules behind it.
