K-Fed is F-Ked
First Britney dumps him, now the critics are savaging his record:
http://www.metacritic.com/music/arti...layingwithfire
Slant Magazine
This disc is just as disposable and dumb as you'd expect.
All Music Guide
The worst thing about Playing with Fire is that it's too stale and inept to inspire laughter: it can only elicit weary groans.
NOW Magazine
His flow is generic and instantly forgettable and his lyrics are trite, inconsequential and full of self-importance.
Rolling Stone
poison

I heard it's sold something like 6000 copies and that K-Fed purchased around 4000 of those to boost himself on the charts.

That metascore ties him with Limp Bizkit and The Bloodhound Gang for the worst album of the millenium thus far.

welcome to gigli-style planned crappiness.
the fact that these record companies are FINALLY feeling the financial pinch of their bankrupt policies is shown true here in jokes like this.
no-talent hacks propped up by marketing alone.
eat napster and die *******s.

I have managed to listen to one of the songs and I think this adequately describes what I thought of it. I listened expecting to be laughing throughout the whole song, but I just couldn't because it wasn't funny. It made me feel bad for Britney. And I loathe Britney.

This is true. However, the good news, Tom Waits is coming out some newer stuff, well as some B-sides, rarities etc... Savior of music.

But I bet muchmusic is gearing up for a 2 hour K-federline live special. I find it disgusting that people like this actually get the resources to record a record, yet I find it equally disgusting that people out there embrace it, while at the same time, laugh at it. Paris Hilton is the butt of many jokes, yet somehow her songs gets regular rotation on music video channels? K-Fed gets opportunities to perform this stuff on awards shows, late night shows etc. So obviously someone out there is listening to and buying this garbage. Rolling Stone magazine is such a rag of crap, they think they bring back their credibility by pointing out this record is a piece crap? We all knew it would be crap, why even waste your breathe? I've seen them review Christina Aguilera records higher than Pearl Jam records. They're probably lining up K-Fed for a cover story. Its just hypocritical BS to point and laugh at these people while still promoting it to the masses. I'm just sick to death of the entertainment industry, especially music.

Igottago,
i'd vote with my dollars, and don't buy into all that crap.
those institutions aren't going to change, they are the forefront of junk culture.
out of this absurdity is an entire wave of web-based skip-the-record-companies-and-their-paid-media-lapdogs self-produced phenomenons.
as soon as people stop paying attention to the award shows, the vj's, and actually start buying music BECAUSE THEY LIKE IT, this crap will be left where it belongs, in the dustbin of history.

I honestly can't tell the difference between that and other live rap music.

i calls it likes i sees it.
patronage of sold-soul suckery like rolling stone is the entire reason there's so many no-talent assclowns releasing records that skyrocket to the top of the charts.
the sooner the readership and viewership of this support structure is gone the better.

I've lost all faith in the general public's ability to sift through the junk culture and the quality. I agree, I ignore this stuff, but until the masses start to ignore it, we'll still see ######bags like K-Fed making records and getting attention. We shouldn't even know who this tool is, really.
