You in marketing perchance? I think all the above stuff is just fine for both men and women. Maybe a Calaway Park pass? Passes for the museum? The zoo? Free Oil change? Car wash perhaps? Tons of little things out there that are fun to get.

Different incentives motivate different people. What about cash? The best way to find out what people want is to simply ask them.

I used to work in a company, an office job, that gave away all kinds of stuff like you mentioned as rewards. I have to say the biggest hit with the staff in general was definatley gas cards. 90% of people are buying gas at least a few times a month and it is very practical. Restuarant Gift certificates were good too, all depends on the restraurant.
Another really cool one that everyone went for was gift cards for Cadillac Fairview malls. Cadillac Fairview owns Chinook and Market(i think) but also many others malls throughout Canada. Everyone liked them because you could use them at any store and they had no restrictions.

I would say a restaurant certificate; but only if it's enough for a person to use it for a free meal. A $20 G/C for the Keg wouldn't cut it.
Gas cards are out because not everybody drives, and for those who do you are just paying part of a bill for them; it isn't "fun."
Indigo- nope. I really don't do much reading. Yes you can buy DVDs there, but the selection is limited.
Doesn't one of the major credit card companies offer gift certificates that are good at any retail location that takes that card?

a nice perk is when the business closes for the last two weeks of hte year and gives the staff the paid time off.
not practical for all types of business, but definatly a perk that seperates some companies from others.

If everyone in the office are close, as in friends, then I would prefer a restaurant gift certificate. That way everyone from the office can go out for a meal/drinks a few times.

I'll agree with the part that not everyone drives(although most people do). But sometimes, especially around the christmas season when money is especially tight, people might be more grateful of having the burden of a bill taken away, rather than recieving a 'fun' gift that they never would have bought themselves.
Not to say they won't appreciate the 'fun' gift, just saying if they got to choose I'll be a lot of people would take the practical one

You can buy American Express gift cards ..and then people can use it for anywhere that takes AMEX, which around here is almost anywhere.
Or..how about a gift certificate to the movies for popcorn, soda, and movie tickets for 2? I don't know many people who don't go to the movies. Get it to a chain of theatre ( i forget what they're called in Alberta) so that they can be used at more than one theatre.
And gas cards are awesome too as mentioned by a lot of people already
