Default Electronics Recycling

I'm in the process of cleaning out much of my home as my father (a notorious pack-rat) passed away this past week. I've come across many boxes of random computer cables/wires and plug-ins that have obviously not been used in years.

I'm trying to avoid just throwing away many of his possesions as possible. The thought that this "junk" could benefit others as opposed to just sitting at the dump helps ease my pain/guilt of getting rid of all his "stuff"

I'm aware of the Electronics recycling depots in Calgary but there's alot of stuff such as old headphones, splitters etc. that I need to get rid of but according to the electronic recycling depot website they do not accept these things.

Does anyone know of a place that will take this kind of stuff?

So sorry to hear about your loss. I know there's an electronics recycling place in the old Currie Barracks by the Calgary Farmer's Market. Like you said, they may not take some of the smaller stuff, so rico's suggestions are good. Women In Need could probably use this stuff to resell, too.

Sorry to hear of the loss of your father. Hope things are going okay for you.

I lost mine 5 years ago to Cancer and that first year was a tough one.

Hang in there!

Sorry for your loss, I'm lucky to still have my father.

I'm happy to hear you're not sending this stuff to the dump. There is so much obsolete stuff (along with lots of plastic bags) that take up place in the landfills. I recommend you try recycling it at that place at the currie barracks or (if it's not too old), donate it to an organization that could use it.

Sorry about losing your father.

Recycle-Logic at the currie barracks (by the farmers market as someone mentioned) will take everything electronic, battery operated, or that plugs into the wall. It's all free too, they will accept food donations if you choose to bring something.

http://www.era.ca/ is one , there is one in the NE.
Uggh, stormchaser's link will do it all.

Tough about your dad.
You'll find yourself wondering what your dad would do ,often. or I did, but you appreciate him more.
It's kind of a look back at your own life and how your dad fit in and molded you.
Show people the good things you learned from your father and you will be content.

Might wanna try just dialing 311 in Calgary. They would direct you to some services.

The Staples by my house (Country Hills) take montiors, stereos, etc... Not sure about cables, but worth a shot if there's one near you.
