Sure it's a campaign promise, but sometimes you get in office and realize that there's nothing else you can do.. (*cough*Eliminate GST*cough*)

taking the GST down to 6% was so pointless. unless you're buying something very expensive like a house or a car it's not even noticeable. i would have much prefered a raise in the GST (say to an easy number like 10%) and then lowering the income tax. but i guess that wouldn't be as good PR

Add up the difference in GST over the course of your year.

I hope you dont go bananas when the city announces property tax hikes.

could also notice the difference at the end of the year in a more significant figure in April with a lower income tax and higher GST. either that or remove GST entirely and compensate with tax in other areas. just seems like an unneccessary nuisance

it was nice visting family in Montana and knowing whatever the price was on something you bought was exactly what you paid
