But late in the evening, during his rebuttal speech, Klein said: "Now Belinda roasted me as a Conservative, but of course now she's a Liberal. And I wasn't surprised she crossed over -- I don't think she ever did have a Conservative bone in her body. Well, except for one."
"Well, speaking of Peter MacKay," Klein continued over the din, "I hope you are as tired as I was to hear them go after it day after day in the House of Commons."
I thought it was funny. What do you guys think? Too much?

I thought it sounded like Ralph back when he was the Mayor. He isn't running for election anymore and can now just be who he is!!!!

Funny joke, but probably not for a public function.
If it was Belinda's roast, that would have been perfect.

It was a roast. I thought nothing was off limits during a roast? Ah well, I'm anti-political correctness, so I thought it was funny.

That is so true. I don't know for sure but it sounds like he had a drink or two (more likely four or five).

Very funny...and as said by one of the smart alderman, anything goes at a roast.
As mentioned (briefly), Klein got lit up by various roasters for being overweight, and a raging alcoholic..again at roasts, everything's fair game...it's not always going to PC, or be in good taste, but its fair game.
Not sure what some of the detractors thought a roast is....and should be not so nieve and/or shocked if invited to any roast to hear comments like that (or worse).

I was awesome funny that he said that and was said in a proper forum of a roast. Even if he gets in trouble for this Ralph doesn't care now that he is retiring.

Ralph rules! i'm so sad he never became the prime minister of canada. Stronach deserves everything she gets. I still remember when she was trying to run for the conservative leadership. She could barely speak and is probably the worst public speaker EVER!!

Why should I feel sorry for Belinda, you want to throw down with the men, dont expect them not to throw back.
It was funny as hell (and probably true), but as a Canadian Conservative voter I wish he hadnt said it just so the issue would die in the media.
Domi wouldnt stand a chance against Klien, in Ralphs world Domi doesnt even get a shot on before Ralph busts a Whisky bottle over his head.

It was a joke and pretty funny. No surprise that some people would be up in arms about it. I heard him tell it and he sounded pretty wasted too.

I don't mind it and it was at an appropriate venue. Besides what're you gonna do to Klein?

I hate Ralph for personal and family reasons...
But that line has to be one of the funniest lines I've ever heard at a roast.
I think YouTube still has Shatner's and Drew Carey's roasts, you tell me what is more appropriate.
