Be careful driving out there tonight (and tomorrow morning)!
Holy cow. Took me an hour and 15 minutes to get home. Usually only takes 20-25 minutes in evening rush hour. I havent checked the forecast but if all this freezes out there its gonna be ugly tomorrow.

Is it just me or does the snow bring out the idiots? I slowed down a bit, kept my distance but there are some dumb people either speeding by or going so slow they're going to cause an accident when someone tries to go around them. The guy infront of mehad his blink on for 5 minutes before he turned the other way. Everyone be careful and keep your distance, slow down for the weathers sake as visibility is lowered but keep your distance incase someone cuts across 3 lanes of traffic and you have to slam on your breaks. (That one happened to me too. :/)

Shi* that makes me nervous about driving out to Chestemere for my game tonight. It also makes me wonder if there will be enough players from both teams to play.

I just drove into work, and it seems like there's a lot more snow in the south central (Glenmore/Blackfoot) than there is in the NE. I shoveled a light dusting off my sidewalk, and that's pretty much it. There's a good 4 inches in the parking lot at my work, though.

I slipped and slid my way to Westhills tonight to do some grocery shopping, and it was the emptiest I've ever seen Superstore. So at least I got some good out of it.
If things go as they seem tomorrow morning's going to be a nightmare.

The lights were ****ing me off coming up 1st street. Stuck behind a bus.
Light turns green but traffic backed up to the intersection too far for bus to get through
Light turns red, traffic on 1st past the light starts to advance but cars on 12th turn onto 1st and quickly it backs up again
Light turns green and again traffic backed up too far for the bus to advance
This lasted a full 30 minutes with me going nowhere.
ARGH!

This is the one and only reason I don't mind taking the C-train. Took me the same amount of time to get home as normal

Man is that a **** off. Why don't they synchronize the lights at that time of day?
Also, I get so ****ed when I am coming home from work at 1:30 in the morning, coming down Shaganappi and the lights turn for no good fricken reason. At that time of night....most lights should be on the red and yellow flashing mode.

Yup! LRT is the way to go.
I suspect Deerfott 500 will be a mess tomorrow morning with people crashing and banging into each other.

if more people actually had proper tires on their vehicles and drove with any amount of common sense this amount of snow wouldn't even be an issue. when the first snowfall hit i still had my summers on my Mazda3 and though i slid around like mad, i managed to get around with no issues with a proper amount of caution. throw on my set of Nokians though and now i have no traction issues and can drive in my normal fashion
it needs to be wider known that all-season means all seasons except winter

Not today. We sat there for 1/2 an hour on 7th this evening. Of course the driver doesn't tell us of the delay until after we pull away from the 3rd st station.
Got a ride after the Hitmen game to 39th ave to get my car; heard announcements that there were still major delays.

Well, I'd rather be sitting on train reading a book as opposed to sitting in traffic burning gas and putting wear and tear on my vehicle. Let the LRT driver take all the stress.

I'm not one to even whine about stuff like this, but the setup was such today that it was actually impossible for traffic to move South-North on 1st street. I bet I would have sat there until 6 pm.

Agreed. 95% of the traffic lights in this city should be on a red/yellow flash overnight.

I have suggested that Calgary Transit only make announcements when the trains are actually running on time. It would be more efficient for them. Their new slogan should be "Calgary Transit, Sorry for the delay."

Yup.
Lets face it, there is a substantial percentage of drivers in Calgary that are, at best, marginal drivers when the conditions are perfect. Throw a bit of snow & ice their way (or fog, or rain, or clouds, or sun...), and voila.
