A Black Bond?
Diddy wants to be the man...007.
The 1st black Bond
Interesting....wouldnt bother me...but then I guess we'd have to have all the races represented. Why not a new movie with all the double ohs accounted for...make a new guy double oh 1 for the blacks...double oh 11 for the Chinese etc...have one big muthafarka of a battle.

I don't care if a black actor plays Bond, but he has to be BRITISH! That means no Denzel and certainly no Puff Daddy.

Exactly, there are so many underrepresented British African English actors out there that are so much more talented, trained, and deserving of the limelight than all these American hip hop stars.

What a tool. He actually came up with the idea that he should play this role. Thanks Puffy. I'm sure it would be a stellar performance.
If this black 007 ever happens, I could totally see Denzel in the role, he'd be perfect. No Will Smith please. No rappers or former rappers.
How far are we from a brown or asian 007?

I don't think its right. James Bond is white, he's has been in all the books, movies, video games... with that, there's no reason why there couldn't be a 005 who was black and became cool enough to have his own spinoffs.
It would be like Shaft 2... starring Jason Statham. Just wrong...its totally reinventing the character... what's next, Jane Bond?
Proper representation of minorities and women as strong role models are important, but lets not go nuts.
But if it had to be... the obvious choice is Colin Salmon (played Robinson in some of the Pierce Brosnan Bond movies)

Agreed, wasn't that Colin... something guy supposed to be in the running for Bond when Brosnan was out? I remember hearing about a black british actor trying for the role.

Are you implying that black action stars have to be confined to crap films like XXX and Bad Boys? Can't they play a more sophisticated role? I mean, sure, maybe Bond is white..but XXX and Bad Boys? Come on.

if there's a black bond then as a casting officer #1 by far on my list would be chiwetel ejifor.
he's a brit, and he put on a clinic of coolness in 'serenity' as the bad guy.
he's appeared as an american numerous times without sounding british at all, he's a versatile and probably classically trained actor.
