Haven't got mine yet, but noticed an eldery guy with his on today. Wear them with pride guys, wear them where they should be worn, over the heart. Not on your hat, right in front of your heart.

I haven't got mine either. I went into a restaurant yesterday near the base here in Edmonton, and all of the soldiers had a poppy. I felt like a total ass.

I will have to get one real soon.

I got mine already. A vet taught me a trick... you poke the pin through the very edge of the poppy and you'll never lose it. I only have to buy one, so I always give generously for the one.

I picked mine up yesterday (the first day they were available) and was the only person I saw all day wearing one.

There were a lot more already today.

Show those al-quaida (sp) a-holes what this country is capable of and how proud we are of that fact. Our "feeble old grandfathers", at least, the ones that survived, are cold hard artifacts of exactly what this country is capable of. Honour them.

I heard on the radio that the vets poppy foundation foodbank is down 40%. I wonder what an extra few bucks in the jar this year will do to help.

Hopfully enough for what theyve sacrificed for us.

That's sad to hear. Too many people don't realize the significance of this holiday. We're hear today because of our vets. To some November 11 is just a holiday. I've even heard people complain about it because it doesn't always land on a Friday or Monday so they can make a long weekend of it. Remembrance Day is probably the 3rd most important holiday of the year, after the true meanings of Easter and Christmas. I hope everyone buys a poppy, makes a generous donation, goes to their local ceremony on Nov 11 and remembers what these people did for us.
