Internet Explorer 7
I was wondering if anyone has tried the new Beta version of internet explorer (version 7)
I installed it a couple of days ago and am kind of indifferent to it. The tab features are a bit better than having all the folders pile up on the bottom. Other than that I do not know what other bells and whistles it has.
Anyone else using it?

have you tried firefox? I am staying away from explorer because MS always seems to leave holes in their designs that are exploited...

To me, IE is a dollar short and a day late. I'm really liking Answers.com on Firefox which I like to hit [just point my curser over the word or phrase, right click and click on Answers.com] whenever someone brings up a word or subject I'm not familiar with.

I have droopy, and really all it accomplishes is getting up to speed with Firefox, Safari etc..Nothing special, nothing extraordinary. It has a phishing filter, but that's the only feature I can dissern.

I like the thumbnail of the pages you have up you can see and refresh live, that's a pretty cool feature they didn't steal from Firefox.

Firefox is almost as bad, it just hasnt been targetted nearly as much becuase its installed base is minimal compared to IE. That said, IE7 is basically just IE6 with all of the features that the other browsers already have integrated. Typical Microsoft, not a single innovative idea, just steal what others are already doing.

When people try and trick you into entering your personal information. Like when you get those emails from say the Royal Bank asking you to enter your account information at a certain link.

If you had Answers.com on Firefox, two clicks and you'd have your answer. No typing involved.
This is good, Inferno gives droopydrew a phish and I teach him how to fish.

For those who care, Production release of IE7 is available from Microsoft today (but install so far is REALLY slow as you would imagine)

Opera has this if it's what I am thinking of. Hover over the name in the tab and you get a thumbnail of the page?

IE7 software is RTM, so I'm sure there will updates right away one loopholes are found. It's a completly new build than the previous IE.

Not bad. It seems to run smoother for some reason and I'm really enjoying the tab feature. It's better than having windows opened everywhere.

Yeah, the tab function is a little tricky and I didnt like that they hid my links (but once found was okay). But, a browser is pretty much still just a browser - porn looks the same on Firefox as it does on IE7 ;-)

Not true at all. IE is built into the kernel of the operating system, it can access any part of your computer whenever it wants to with no warnings or interaction from the user. Thus any security hole can be used to bring the whole operating system to its knees.

IE7 is the bane of my existence. In particular, the way it handles java and stylesheets has created some bugs with the Oilers website that I'm in a race against time to fix.
