Default How the heck do I win a faceoff in NHL 07?

Picked this up for the 360 yesterday, and played about eight games so far. I'm really enjoying the new controls now that I've finally gotten used to them, and I love the variety of different goal types that can be scored, but FACEOFFS, holy crap! In the eight games I've played, I think I've scored about 35 goals and won maybe six faceoffs.

Anyone have any tips? I know I need to use the right stick, but I don't know if I'm using the wrong motion or mis-timing it or what, but this is pretty ridiculous.

I think you still use the old school pass button for face offs....

at least that is how it was set up at my buddies place.... the right joystick did nothing for faceoffs.

I just hold the direction I want to pass to on the left stick and then hammer the right stick from middle back over and over. I've found there to be no real timing. But this is for PS2 and I maybe only win 30-40% of them.

Are the controls different for PC? If not...the 2 analog sticks control where the puck goes off the draw, and toggling the other wins the draw. THink it might be different conrols though...

Pull back on the right analog stick when the ref drops the puck. There are 3 animations for the ref to drop the puck: fake twice then drop, fake once then drop, or drop puck the first time. You just need to pull back when he drops it. Just watch the ref closely and you should be able to tell which animation he's going through. Once you get the timing down, you'll win most of the draws.

Draw back too early and you'll lose the faceoff everytime.

The game on 360 is a totally different game.

One other question though, how the hell do you fight? I can't fight worth crap. I think I've thrown 3 punches in 2 fights.

On the 360. Just press Left Bumber. It makes your guy kick the puck back with his skate. Press it repeatidly. And for fighting, The punches you throw go from how your body in leaning. Lean forward and throw non-stop body punches for the win.
