Default BEST video & audio editing program?

Hey I'm interested in creating some videos and putting them up on youtube. I want a program to help me make videos...doesn't have to be simple and elementary, but it can't be so advanced where you need a degree and years of training in computers. A program taht will give amazing end results.
Do you know of any such program?
thanks allot

iTunes (if you have a Mac) is probably the best choice for an entry-level editing suite. Sony Vegas (for Windows) is pretty easy to use too. Stay the hell away from Windows Movie Maker.

If you want something more advanced (you probably won't need it...), Final Cut HD or Adobe Premiere are quite good.

Umm....

iTunes=tunes
iMovie=movies

If the person is asking, they probably don't have a Mac.

Adobe has Premiere Elements now. You could probably download a trial.

You could try Jahshaka as a free open source product.

Sony Vegas is very easy to use. You can become an intermediate after a couple hours use. I use it for audio as well though I should probably use Sound Forge.

Vegas 7 you can render straight to Video Podcast as well.

The best for audio editing is Pro Tools although its not cheap, and takes awhile to get the hang of. For PC the Adobe program is pretty sweet.

I have Pinnacle Studio. Not extrememly happy with it. Kind of cumbersome and a few bugs
