Default Hiring a personal Injury Lawyer advice

Back in June my wife was in an automobile accident where the other party was 100% at fault. She did suffer neck and back injuries and was checked out by a doctor right away. She also went to a chiropractor and massage therapist and filed that information with the insurance company. She had to miss three days of work, within the first couple weeks of the accident, and has had to leave work and miss additional days since due to headaches. She did use massage therapy and chiropractic services before for about 2 sessions of each per month. Now she needs to use these services weekly, and sometimes two times per week. She used to get your typical 4 week female headaches, but now gets them on a weekly basis. As a result her attendance at work has been pretty poor lately. Also she currently holds a casual position and due to her now poor attendance may not ever get a permanent position with capital health as it's one of the 4 factors they look at.

I know the Alberta government put limitations on neck and back injuries a couple of years back. But I still think we should consult a lawyer and look into the matter, as my wife is still relatively young, and this accident definitely has affected her. I know there are a few CP posters who have gone through a similar ordeal dealing with the system. From what I know off hand most personal injury lawyers work on a contingency fee where they're fees are directly related to the amount of the settlement usually around 30% of the claim from what I gather. My prime concern is to ensure that she gets proper medical treatment for her injuries and that we are compensated so that we can get that treatment without paying for it out of our own pockets.

If anyone can give me a low down on their experience in this thread or through a PM it would be greatly appreciated.
