Default Printing Digital Photos

I'm curious about how people print out their digital photos. Online? At a store?

I think for printing online you have to submit a fairly large number of photos since they're going to charge you shipping costs, and any costs saved in a lower price per photo (vs. a store) would be negated by the shipping costs. That said, I could come up with a fair number of photos to be printed. Any have any good experiences with an online site that has a good quality-to-price ratio?

Also, as far as stores are concerned, can anyone recommend a good place to get this done? As I am in Quebec, I'd be more interested in a nation-wide chain (Wal-mart, Staples, etc) that a place available only in Calgary. Again, I'm not looking for the best price per photo; I'd like something that's decent quality as well.

Any recommendations are appreciated!

I have used Futureshop before and the pictures came out with really decent quality. If you pick them up you don't have to pay for shipping. The best thing was they said they would be ready within 48 hours.. and the emailed me 5 hours later and said my pics were ready to be picked up.

I have seen digital pics developed at Wal-mart and they were really good as well.. I think a bit better than the ones I got from Futureshop. Same thing with the pickup option, its' free.

I've heard Costco is good too .. but I haven't actually seen any results.

I use Superstore. You can bring them in on almost any format- CD memory card, etc and you get them in an hour.

Cost is ~20¢ per pic and they come out just fine for my needs.

I save my pics onto a CD and take it to walmart, they have those photo machines where you can print pics of all sizes. I enlarged some of the weddings pics that family and friends took at my wedding and they were AMAZING quality!

I've used both WalMart and Costco. Both were excellent quality. Believe Costco has the best retail price I've seen.... $0.18 for 4x6. Believe Walmart was ~$0.20.

I'm going to second this idea. Costco has fantastic photo finishing services and offers a choice of glossy or matte, border or no border for all your pictures. Their prices for printing up large size photos are quite ridiculous as well. Very nice for displaying your own photography as art.

Club Price in Quebec if they still haven't changed their name to Costco.

I order mine off the iphoto program...never taken more than 4 days to get here. 19 cents a picture...i even ordered a 20x30" shot of me hitting a jump while skiing. I crashed and burned when i landed, but the picture wouldn't let you know

They finally did change it to Costco. So far, this is my favourite suggestion. I'll probably try to pay them a visit this weekend.
