Being a little preoccuppied at work, I gave the wrong title to my thread. I just skimmed through the article and didn't realize that it was the ISRAELI ambassador to Australia not the AUSTRALIAN ambassador to Israel.

Must be my ADD...

Anyway, now that I have some time to comment...

What would bother me if I had anything invested in the issue is the fact that this person was making the case for cooperation between the two countries based on belonging to a specific race. If that's all that you have in common, it's pretty sad.

Of course, the ambassador conveniently forgets the black Jews and the Indigenous Australians.

And since when is Australia in Asia?!

and i don't remember seeing any asians with yellow skin. in fact their skin tone seemed to be pretty similar to us whiteys

More importantly, there are Australians and Israelis WITH yellow skin and slant eyes. This isn't shocking though, Israel has a long standing tradition of racism, particularly against the chinese.
