I did that already and it uploads the files fine to the main file in that ftp. But I need to view other folders in the ftp, and Explorer doesn't seem to have that functionality...

Is it because you need to put in a username/pass to see those folders?

If so, you're probably browsing as "anonymous" right now, so if you go File-> log in as, it will let you see what you need.

i just use IE, but if you want a free ftp program, I'd suggest http://www.smartftp.com/

also, to save jiri some time, there's a computer help thread stickied at the top where questions are usually answered in a timely fashion.

Nope, when I ftp the site it gives me three useless folders that I cannot even open...

So I "login as..." then it brings me to a blank page, which is the main ftp page for the site, but I need to go to a "var/www/" folder, which is the tricky part

Ok, I tried that and it tells me the file doesn't exist because it's adding:

/home/site

in front of it... hmmmm

Sounds like the ftp server has some funny settings....

I suggest this then.

Start->run->cmd

then type: ftp ftp.site.com

It should then ask you for your login/pass

you can then use "cd" to change to the proper directory. If you type help it will give you the rest of the commands. This is the one fool proof method.
