You're not the only one. One of our friends is due in December, another in January, and we are expecting a little Flames fan in March.

How old does a baby have to be before exposing it to the loud sounds of the Saddledome?

My wife and I are expecting in February.

How old does a baby have to be to be exposed to the dome? The people that sit beside had a friend at the Oiler game on Saturday that had her 3 month old baby there. They had ear muffs on the baby. Not sure how it turned out. In 2004, the Nashville brawl game, one of my wife's co-workers had his 5 month old baby at the game. We were in the Super Suites though and the baby got to stay in its Pram (or whatever you call that thing).

I want a kid!

I guess I need to get a girlfriend first, though.

no doubt. We're going through teething right now and it's a real treat. Poor guy has busted out 4 of them in the last 2 weeks. He actually slept not too badly last night.

Congrats, zukes!

And my little guy is 8 months old and I haven't yet taken him to a game. I think it's a tad too loud. Maybe when he's 2 or 3.

When babies are younger, from my experience, the loud noise bothers them less. They tend to be able to sleep through almost anything, and have much quieter cries.

That being said, my advise is to not tip toe around your newborn when they're sleeping, make noise, vacuum, let them sleep in the living room with TV on at normal vloume, etc. It's the best advise we recieved. Our daughter is a heavy sleeper now, while friends who kept quiet when the newborn slept, have a very light sleeper.

Our daughter took in her first Flames game during pre-season, she loved it (Harvey the Hound actually), she was 19 mths old at the time.

Thanks everyone. Luckily I am not going into this completely blind as I had a hand in raising my niece and nephew, though I'm sure it's much different when it's your own.

Congrats Zukes!

My little Flames fan is due Nov 23rd (6 weeks to go). Its pretty exciting, the time does actually go pretty fast.

I have used our little one to my advantage already. I ordered Centre Ice and justified it with my wife explaining how I would sit up watching Flames games with the baby (they are on late here in Halifax) while she could get some sleep.
