Oil rumblings:

Oil As expected Sebastien Caron was absent from the Oil Canuck clash at GM Place. His chair in the press box remained empty. Rumors circled as soon as his agent came a whining to the media. Caron has yet to address the media, and is only speaking through his agent.

Rink had this to say prior to returning to Edm tonight…… “There used to be a time in Hockey where the player honored his contract, played for the game and what he signed for and accepted his responsibility for the better of the team. Unfortunately I guess those days are over, I assume when Caron signed his lucrative 1.25 mill contract per season, he expected to play?…

The oil are looking for a 2nd round pick or a decent ECHL prospect in return

The Jets are pleased to welcome Caron to the Jets. Going to the Greaseballs are prospects Matt Keetly and Jaime McBain.

Caron Sent to Siberia!!

The Oil are happy to welcome to the Greenville Growls, Prospects:

Matt Keetley

Flame prospect Will gain the number one job in greenville this season. We look forward to watching progress into a solid goalie for this organization.

Jamie McBain (Dman)

McBain is a strong offensive defenseman. He has good puck handling skills and a good sense of where the puck needs to be. Another prospect we did like from the 2006 entry draft. Jamie has been a fixture in the US program since a 15 year old in the USA Hockey Select 15 and 16 camps.

Well I am not sure either prospect will turn into anything so its nothing off my poor roster so it helps now.

I drafted Keetley, so maybe I'm just biased lol, but I think he'll be good

Keetley and McBain are like 4 and 5 years away from doing anything in the CPHL. So to get help today I don't think it's that much for the Jets.

But you still have to have a solid base for the future...and a 3rd string back up isn't that kinda base

Well thats where we differ. I have never been a fan of young players but now that the rerates really boosted young players I have no choice but to find someone to take my vets for younger guys at the cphl level. Where we differ is that I would rather load up on guys that are capable of playing in the sim, instead of stock piling prospects who most will never turn into anything.
