Next on giant species list: Terror Bird of carnage
Ok so I know I posted that giant camel thread a week or two ago, and although it didn't garner much interest I thought I'd try again. This, straight from nationalgeographic.com (so you KNOW its true) is about giant terror birds that scientists believe could eat dogs in one snap of the beak!
Crazy! It seems like almost everything of ancient times was giant! It's like going Texas, only back in time and instead of giant french fries, its giant lizards, birds and vertebrates.

Awesome.

Not possible, it has to be a lie. The earth is only 6000 years old.

Cloned terror birds were featured in the far-future science fiction novel Illium by Dan Simmons.

Was listening to that creepy late night radio program the other night on QR - Coast to Coast All Night and they had some dude on talking about all sorts of weird stuff, including some big ass bird that people claim to have seen that is capable of snatching up calfs and what not.
That show gives me the willies and the heebie jeebies.

the big birds are pretty freaky but less so when i think of the 5-foot insects or the 15-foot rats or the 80-foot sharks (megalodons).
well, the sharks don't have bones but the teeth were HUGE.

That isn't Art Bell is it? If not, does anybody remember his show when it used to be on...maybe it still is. That was a freaky show at times as well - I loved the topics of paranormal, UFOs and all that jazz...

That show is awesome!!! I always listen to it when I'm driving home late (usually after playing NCAA at a buddies house after hockey games), and I always get a good laugh.

Crazy stuff here:
http://www.coasttocoastam.com/
Derrel Sims, Alien HunterTM is a Master NLP Practitioner, Certified Master Hypnotherapist and Board Certified Hypnotic Anesthesiologist who teaches seminars, workshops, and speaks at conferences worldwide on these subjects as well as being one of the top UFO Investigators in ufology. His expertise in all of these areas, and the fact that he was an abductee until age 17 is why he stands out above the rest in the quest to unveil the hidden agendas behind alien abductions and alien implants.
Dan Allen's ink drawing of the poltergeist attack that he endured:

Art Bell, 60, married 21 year old Airyn Ruiz, a resident of the Philippines whom he came to know through internet "dating." Art relocated to the Philippines and resumed hosting the show as of June 15, 2006, but has had difficulties with an ISDN line and hosts weekends as technology permits. Otherwise, George Noory substitute hosts the Sunday versions or a tape is played of a previous show. Saturdays are guest hosted when Bell is unavailable.

I'd be afraid of getting hit by a 'terror bird bomb from above.'
Eww... You would have to get the whole car washed.... not just the window.

I can't imagine many people being afraid of a model of an extinct species.
Then again, perhaps I missed your sarcasm!
