Default Need to watch Hockey!!

Ok here's the deal, Big Flames fan, living overseas, dying to watch Hockey! There must be some way to watch games through the internet with todays technology, I just haven't figured it out yet. Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Get a buddy to hook his comp up to the TV or cable box and stream it to you via webcam on MSN. I did that for a number of CPers during the Cup run and it seemed to work OK.

Kevan, you may just be my saving grace while I'm spending the winter in New Zealand. Can you really do that? Man I would be FOREVER GRATEFUL!

Yeah, I hooked up my Shaw cable box to my webcam and then started a conversation with whoever. Back then only 1 person could get audio but now I think with the video conferencing option on MSN everyone would be able to watch and listen. I think anyway, I havent tried it for over 2 years.

While the stream, I'm sure, would be choppy at best, it sure would beat catching it on the radio. Nothing like seeing the game over just hearing it.

The slingbox would work even better, but you'd still need someone at home to host it for you.

I was a recipient of Kevan Guy's generosity and yes it's better than nothing for sure. Of course you have to know there will be lags and technical problems but hey beggars can't be choosers.

It will make ya happy!!!

By far the best device for it is the Sling Box, just hope you have highspeed on both sides.
