What a beautiful day
I was just outside for a bit. Unreal day. Perfect weather. Slight breeze, no cold. Autumn is also a very beautiful season. I have always hated this time of year because September = Back to school. For the first time ever I am appreciating this wonderful season. I think I am going to spend some time outside this afternoon, and if you are not doing anything this afternoon, go outside!

It's alright...I've noticed the flames tend to win while the weather outside is getting worse.

Myself and a few hundred of my closest friends started the Harvest Half Marathon (21 km) at 7:45 a.m. in the cold gloom of dawn yesterday (Saturday), running through the streets of Midnapore and then Fish Creek Park as the sun was coming up . . . . . finishing a few hours later in a nicely toasty, sunny morning.
Just a great day for a run . . . .
The run benefited the foundation of a 38 year-old single mother and colleague of mine who lost her life to brain cancer last year. As I was running along, it was nice to see mutual friends and colleagues as volunteers along the way.
Then I spent the next six or seven hours with my feet up on the deck, under the brolly, reading a bit and watching the harvest going on across the valley . . . . .
Yes, a beautiful day . . . .

Went and had a big outdoor roller hockey game with some friends yesterday at an outdoor rink that has cement instead of grass when it's not covered in ice. It was awesome.
Edmonton and Calgary has had great weather lately. Can't believe it's already October and it's still almost 20 degrees. Plus fall is the nicest time of year in Edmonton. The river valley just looks stunning!

This is why I love autumn. My favourite days are high teens, low 20s with sun and a bit of breeze. This usually happens in the spring and autumn, but in the spring it is often slushy or muddy, while in the Autumn I can get out and enjoy the day.

He didn't mention rain and humidity that chills you to the bone though...

That's $10 you would lose . . . . although I do have a picture post-race, using an 18 mm wide angle of my bare feet in the sunshine, up on a deck table, the valley and mountains stretched out in the distance and, microscopically, three combines making short work of a field in the distance. That's pretty much the position I spent most of the day in, waiting until a decent hour in the afternoon before pulling out a beer.
However, in the mood of the thread, I did take this picture on Saturday afternoon, Polly the two-footed cat and Mrs. C enjoying the leaves of Fall.
