parking ticket
I got an impark parking ticket, since my ticket fell on the floor of my car, and it wasn't displayed properly.
Anyone gotten their ticket reversed because of this?
I have the ticket still.

I'd say. Call them up and see what they say. Or don't pay it, and just never park there again.

A couple years ago Impark got in trouble because their collection agency's auto-dialer called everyone in the middle of the night. The **** hit the fan, so the Gov't refused to allow them access to registry info, so they couldn't trace who to chase for payment.
I don't know if that is still the case, or not.
I thought I also recall that Impark can only charge you the cost of parking - they don't have the authority to issue a legal fine; although I'd look that up before you follow that approach.

I believe they do access agin but can not report to the credit bureau so all they can do is harass you.

That's not true, atleast not here in B.C, they fine you $40 if you pay within 14 days, or else it's like $60. But i'm not sure if it's the same in Calgary.
Since you have ur receipt, just give them a call saying u did pay for the parking. They'll probably just ask you to fax the receipt to them and they'll cancel it. If you don't have the receipt, i wouldn't worry about it, i don't think it's worth it for them to start chasing you down.

There was a new impark agreement in Aug. 2005 link
Quote:
Under the tough new terms of the agreement, Impark may obtain a name and address of an owner of a motor vehicle only for processing and collecting outstanding parking payments. Impark is also required to post clear signage on its properties explaining fees, time limits, receipt placement and consequences of non-payment.

My Fiancee has ohh lets see about... 50 unpaid parking tickets from all over Calgary. She keeps telling me that she doesn't need to pay them ever because the law states that if no one is in the car park to enforce the payment of getting a ticket then you can park there for free. I have no idea how right or wrong she is but it does sound like it is untrue. Over the 5 years of getting these tickets she has never had any comeback from the various companies that operate the parking lots. She has just imformed me that there was a lawsuit about this a few years back and the collection agents lost as apparantly it is private property and unless they are there to make you pay you do not need to buy a ticket. I still do not believe it all though. look it up on the net.
Over here in Brit-ville i been in exactly the same situation as you and i wrote to them telling them my story and included my ticket which covered the time the fine issued. I eventually got off but took them 3 months to write back to me and i got many warnings in the post.
hopefully the loophole my fiancee exploited it still valid and you can just ignore it.
Good Luck Mate,
Magic

I mailed them the receipt and ticket (To Vancouver I think), kept a copy and wrote a letter of explanation. Ticket was cancelled. I had a laugh because I cc'd a copy of the letter to my "lawyer"... Lionel Hutz and Associates.

I have got two parking tickets from impark. Got both of them reversed.
One time i was definitely at fault. I parked in an IGA along whyte ave in edmonton after it closed. I told them i bought something from IGA and there was no sign that said no parking (and there wasn't it was proabbly stolen). They reversed it.
The second time I wasn't at fault definitely. I used their wireless parking service (call in via cell phone and enter the # of the lot and it charges it to your credit card) and I got a ticket even though i paid. They reversed it.
As for not paying the fine. I would rather not be chased by collection agency over 20 dollars or whatever it is. I am not sure that is what they would do.
In your case just call impark. They seem to be reasonable.
