New Killers Album
Quite good, not better than the first one, but it's pretty good.
Thank goodness for torrents!

Has this been released yet or is it just available the illegal way?

It's officially out on Tuesday October 3rd. They're also going to be the musical guest on Saturday night live too this coming Saturday. Might be worth checking out because Dane Cook is hosting it.
Brandon Flowers is pretty arrogant. But I like people who are arrogant, so I might actually pony up the money and buy my first CD in like 5 years, just because he had the audacity to claim that it would be the best album in the past 20 years.

On their second album, Sam's Town, the Las Vegas party boys ditch their cheerfully fake Bowie moves and try to get heavy by copying Bruce Springsteen. Yes, that means glockenspiel solos. Yes, it means anthems about the road and looking for America and girls named Mary. No, it's not a good move.

Well considering Rolling Stone pans about 85% of every album that gets any air play, it's nothing new. I'm allowed one guilty pleasure in life, and frankly don't know enough about music myself to seek out great unheard of acts where the "real talent" is.

That's a very interesting review. Much like myself, Rolling Stone has for years knelt at the feet of the Church of Springsteen, and they really give hell to the Killers for pulling out the Boss-like cliches.
I do recall the lead singer saying that this album would sound more American than European. When the Killers first emerged, I would have sworn they were a British band.
I can't imagine it's ever a good thing if your sound is considered equal with the band Rob Lowe played sax for in "St.Elmo's Fire".

The Killers are doing a three-night stand on ``Jimmy Kimmel Live'' on A-B-C.
The Killers will play next Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
Kimmel says he loves The Killers and he tried to convince them to play every night, but they settled on three.
The Killers will also perform on N-B-C's ``Saturday Night Live'' this week. (AP)

honestly, after listening to it a couple times in it's entirety, it really doesn't compare to the first album. The first album was really good. But I think I was swaded by, "Where The White Boys Dance". It's a bonus at the end of the album, and it's alright which makes up for most of the deadwood on the rest of the album. "When You Were Young" is actually the best song on the album IMO. This album is more of a non-top 40 feel to it unlike the first one which was really catchy.

I have no idea how these guys have had the succes they've had..and really, I have no idea why anyone likes them..seem like such a contrived attempt at pulling off that 80's music vibe...and that new single is just not a good song at all IMO. Seems like people are so willing to celebrate mediocrity these days, I guess because everything else mainstream is such junk.

Their first album was really good man. Find it and check it out. Whether or not they're fake, who cares? The songs are pretty catchy, and that works just fine. If one song you should check out, get "Jenny Was A Friend of Mine".

Agreed. The Killers are one of the few bands I simply cannot stand.
Just not my taste at all.

Hence why music taste is very subjective.
I don't like rap music, but I'm not going to crap all over someone who does. They have the right to like whatever without someone getting on their high horse and cutting them down.

Well, I'm no Nickelback fan....but I wish I could come up with a way to make that much money by constantly regurgitating the same thing.

Oh no of course. Sorry if I sounded like an ass. I thought I indicated that it was just not my taste in music.
