Default Bad Religion/Dropkick Murphys tonight

Well I'm not sure if anybody cares but I know there is a show featuring Bad Religion and the Dropkick Murphys in Calary tonight at the Corral. I was at the shaw in Edmonton last night and saw one hell of a show. If your a fan BR or DM you might want to check this out.

I'm as big as a Bad Religion fan as anybody but the Dropkick Murphys (punk band with bagpipes?) I think stole the show. I knew only one of their songs and damn they are all catchy with that Irish sing along anthem feel.

Bad Religion didn't dissapoint either, throwing out their best old and new playing for just over an hour. Showed good energy considering half the band in in their 40's. Just thought I'd give a heads up cause their is probably still tickets avaliable.

I can't wait. I've got my tickets. Me and 4 friends will be having a few pints, and then going to listen to some great bands (one of which I'm certain was created for the soul purpose of getting people to drink more beer).

Please tell me they played "Kiss me I'm S***faced". That's pretty much the greatest song in the world to have a beer to.

I'm a huge BR fan. Been looking forward to this concert for while. Not a big fan of Dropkick Murphy's though. Just don't like that 'celtic punk' sound. Did any other bands play?

The other is Comeback Kid out of Winnipeg.

I was surprised by the Murphys though. They sure do have a cult following, I don't know how many people I seen with kilts, striped shirts n such. Overall a very unique and fun group. And yes they play "Kiss me I'm S*** faced".

Graffin must be pushin his mid 40's though along with the little bald guy.

They are all between the ages of 42 and 45. Except the drummer Brooks Wackerman he is the youngin of the group in his late 20's...

I saw the show in Edmonton last night, pretty good, except I hate HATE that venue, shaw conference center sucks for sure.. For myself I usually don't go to very big shows so that could be it as well...

Pennywise the cirlcle jerks and Ignite are playing next weekend, should also be a great show. I'm mostly excited about seeing Ignite, and the circle jerks will be cool to see as well..

Most of all though, one of my newest favourite bands the Sainte Catherines (fat wreckchords) are coming through Calgary in a month. Can't wait for that.. For those who like punk, their newest album Dancing for Decadance is very very good. Be warned though, its hard, a little crusty.. You can see a couple of their vids on fatwreck.com... Their previous album isn't quite as good though.

This will be my first time seeing Bad Religion, and I'm pumped. Not a huge fan of the Dropkick Murphys, but I'm still looking forward to seeing them.
