Default Big fire just off Eastbound Mcknight

On my way home this morning (about 8:40am), drove past a huge fire at a concrete finishing shop at McKnight and Edmonton Trail. Looked pretty intense, at least 6 or 7 trucks on scene. Don't remember the actual name of the company. Media was all there so I'm sure we'll see it in the news at lunch and tonight.

If you're heading out, don't take McKnight East, it's completely blocked off by police and fire.

I heard on the radio that it's a second alarm fire with petroleum products involved. Must be pretty bad if there closing down Mcknight.

Guess they just shut down Eastbound too. Glad I got through when I did. Sorry I didn't have my camera with me or I'd put up some pictures.

I saw it on Breakfast Television this morning. Didn't look like much on TV, all I saw was a little bit of smoke.

Probably increased in size after that, think it's still getting worse (listening to 660 News Radio).

Crazy... the smoke seemed to be blowing north-ish across McKnight.

I am south of McKnight, maybe that's why I see no smoke.

I wondered what was going on from Deerfoot trail at about 9:15. The smoke seemed to be blowing southeast, right across Deerfoot, and there was a lot.

One million dollars damage?! Ouch. Here's the official CFD press release. Pretty much the same as the CTV one.

I smelled fire out in Marda Loop this morning... thought it was my friend who dropped her cigarette in her car's steering column... could have been a combination of the two. I'm no expert... :P
