Kurt Angle To TNA
Not sure if this is where it belongs... cause some don't think it's a sport...
BUT HOLY CRAP!!! KURT ANGLE IS NOW WRESTLING FOR TNA!!!
Appariently at the No Surrender PPV, there was a huge announcement. That announcement, accompanied by a video of the "wrestling machine", was that Kurt Angle has signed with TNA.
Is this not egg on Vince's face? About time someone screwed Vince. He asked for his release, and he got it, but I am sure that WWE assumed it was for medical reasons, and that if Angle was to come back... it would be with them. This is now not the case.
http://www.tnawrestling.com has more.
I'm blown away...

Huge signing. It'll have legal ramifications as I've heard there was a clause in his contract that he couldn't work for WWE's competitors for a certain amount of time after his tenure with WWE ended. This is a standard clause in WWE's contracts.

Good, maybe a little competition will make wrestling good again. Hasn't been the same since WCW and ECW went under and WWE has pranced around uncontested.

Not that it'll help much, but I bet that Scott Hall shows up in TNA soon.

I thought I read that WWE was worried about, thanks to all his injuries, his dependancy on pain killers. They asked him to take some time off, and he refused.
That, and he's in the middle of divorce from his long time wife, who's pregnant...thought the WWE was also worried about mental state, with all these factors combined.
Who knows though.

I thought Angle had some massive neck and back problems. Shouldn't he be retiring?

Supposedly he asked for his release citing neck and back problems were causing him to use too much pain killers. He just wanted to take care of his health... I guess he healed quickly.

Weird considering there was a ton of talk that Angle was training to be a MMA fighter.
Here's one of the articles on it:

Usually wrestlers have a 90 day no-compete clause in their contracts (as I believe Kurt had in his). I'm pretty sure this just states that a wrestler can not actually compete for the opposing company but has no ramifications if he wanted to show up and talk. I could be wrong but I think that's what the case is...
As a big wrestling fan myself this is a HUGE move and hopefully with the talks of TNA wanting a Monday night timeslot this will revive the WWE to become more cutting edge like they were in the late 90's against WCW...
Here's to hopefully a good 2-3 years of competative wrestling!

My guess is that Kurt Angle is the next wrestler to die of mysterious causes. From the sounds of it the WWF had suspended him twice under thier new wellness policy, and basically released him in order for him to get his life back in order and heal from his numerous injuries. Looks like he took Vinces advice to heart seriously for about 5 minutes.
After the death of Eddie G, the wrestlers that worked with Angle actually went to Vince about thier concerns about Angle and most of the wrestlers thought that he was going to follow Eddie and demanded that WWE managment stage an intervention.
Stupid move by Angle.

There are rumors of Nash Hall and Xpac all coming back to the WWE for a DX vs Nwo feud..a few years past it's expiry date.

Not really. The only contract he was under was a 90-day no compete contract. By signing with TNA, he forfeits any money still owed to him by WWE.

I think it's less about the money, and more about WWE doesn't want anyone they've released showing up anywhere else. This is the first time I've heard of anyone breaking the clause. Everyone else is respectful of of, weither they like it or not.
Only when their contract runs out (ala Christian) have I seen the "next day jump". Or in the case of Rick Rude, The same night jump.

Not really a bad move for Kurt. The work load gets cut by 90% as he only has to work one day every 2 weeks now. That will give him lots of time to work out and get better. My guess is that for the forst little bit they will just build him up and not let him wrestle until at least the next PPV. That MAY be how they can get around the no work clause.

Kurt Angle looks so messed up on growth hormone it's not even funny. His head/jaw is so enlarged it's out of control.

I also heard the Road Dogg and Billy Gunn are not happy with how TNA is treating them and that they may be returning to the WWE.

I can't see that happening as I saw an interview a couple of months ago with the New Age Outlaws and they had soem VERY disparaging comments about HHH. They were not big fans of his anymore

Pro Wrestling is funner to read about then actualy watch, I could care less about who wins a match, I'm more interested in the backstage politics, and even that gets to the point where I don't care anymore. I miss Jericho, I haven't watched pro wrestling since he left.

Where did he go? Just stopped wrestling? He seemed to be a pretty big star for a while there... no idea though, haven't watched in years.
