Default MLB postseason picks

Here are the matchups and my picks

Oak vs Min - Oakland in 5 - should be a very good series
Det vs NYY - NYY in 3 - Yanks are just too good and this year they have pitching

Stl vs SD - Stl in 5 - I just like Stl, I think they will put it together for this series
LAD vs NYM - NYM in 5 - This will be another very good series, the dodgers have been amazing of late and the Mets went on a late season dive

Let me know what you think

If the A's are going to win the series they better win it in 4 games. As a fan I think the A's have enough to win as long as they don't have to face Santana twice. A's in 4.

The Yanks should have little trouble with the free falling Tigers. Yanks sweep.

I think the Padres will take out the Cards in 4, and I believe the Mets will be upset by the Dodgers in 5.

Homer pick- Cards in 5.

It will be tough but the Padres don't have any great hitters or pitchers. Just solid guys. The Cards have two guys that can win games on their own- Pujols and Carpenter.

CArpenter will have to pitch great for them to win this series. If he can dominate game 1. Pujols can have a big game in 2,3 or 4 and then Carpenter comes back in game five they might have a shot. The problem is the other pitchers are horrible. When Jeff Suppan is your number two guy and Weaver is starting as well you are going to need some offense.

as for the others:

Mets in 4
Yanks in 4
Twins in 5

Oak v. Minny - I'll take Minny in 5 Johna Santana the difference maker here. I like both these teams though so I'll be happy with whoever goes through
NYY v. Detroit - NYY in 3. Scary lineup particularly now that Sheff is back in there.
St. L. v SD - Cardinal in 4. I think now that they are in the playoffs, they will feel better about themselves and start to play better.
LAA v. NYM - I'll take the Dodgers in 5, I think the Mets have been playing over their head the entire season.

Oak Vs Minny- As an A's fan I was really hoping for the Tigers. Like someone said above the A's can't afford to face Santana twice so they will have to win in atleast in 4. A's in 4

NYY Vs. Det- I'm going with the upset here. Det lost the division and know everyone is counting them out. They have no pressure at all and can get back to playing like they were at the beginning of the season. Tigers in 5

St. Louis Vs. SD- Should be an interesting series. The Cards are playing bad baseball right now while the Padres got on a good roll to win the division. Padres in 4.

NYM Vs. LA- I'll give the Mets the edge here. Mets have struggled a bit, but I think they should be able to get by the Dodgers. mets in 4.

Oakland vs. Minnesota Oakland in 4

If Francisco Liriano is healthy than Minnesota takes this series. But he's not and Billy Beane's Moneyballers finally win a round.

Detroit vs. Yankess Yankees in 3

The Yankees lineup could go toe to toe in a series against MLB's allstars. The Yankees pitching staff has a few questions, but Chien Ming Wang and Mike Mussina give them two good starters, and the lineup will outslug the Tigers in the other game.

St.Louis vs. San Diego Padres in 4

San Diego had to fight pretty hard down the stretch to win their division. As a result they did really use their bull pen a lot. Still the Cards have a lot of injuries and I think the Padres are the team with more confidence right now. Just walk Pujols every time and no one else on the Cards can beat you.

Los Angeles vs. Mets Mets in 5

Well the Mets have struggled and they have no Pedro for the playoffs. Los Angeles has played pretty well down the stretch and have a potentially good rotation of Penny, Lowe and Maddux set up for the playoffs. Still New York is rested and Los Angeles isn't. Dodgers win the first two but the Mets come back once they dial in the intensity.
