British billionaire Richard Branson on Thursday said he would donate $3 billion US over 10 years to anti-global warming initiatives.

The announcement came at the Clinton Global Initiative, a conference being hosted by former U.S. president Bill Clinton.

That is good and all, but I think "the environment" would be better off if he said something like "I'm going to donate 100 per cent of the profits towards R&D so we can come up with some incredibly efficient car/furnace/engine/technology that people will buy so I can make even more money".
