Hey all'
Just wondering if you any of you have had any experience with a Nissan Xterra. I am looking into buying a new car over the next month or so and am strongly siding with buying a Nissan Xterra.
Any one have any opinions on the SUV? Good, Bad, Ugly?
Or any other possible cars that you think would be worth looking into?

My dad just bought a Nissan Murano, and I helped him shop around. The Nissan dealer said the one vehilce he wouldn't sell is an Xterra. He said it was underpowered and didn't hold up to the standards of the rest of their lineup.
Take that for what you will.

I'm no expert (I don't even know how to drive) and I have issues with SUV's, but I think that one looks cool.

My old roomate had an X-Terra, and unless you are someone that really does use an SUV for the odd offroad trip, they are not right. It is rough, underpowered, relatively noisy interior, etc. However, it was a decent offroader (especially for the price) for mountain bike trips, so depending on what you want, it may be for you.
If you want to look at something a little pricier, I would look into the new 4-Runner. I test drove one a while back, and if I was buying an SUV that would be the direction I'd go.

I'd still stick with Nissan and go Pathfinder if you could.

Stay away from domestic!! They are all depreciating at an unprecedented pace right now from all the vehicles that Ford and GM blew out of stock a few years ago, so unless you want to take a bath on a purchase or a lease RUN AWAY.
I'm looking at a Tundra right now, and they're frickin awesome. $650/mo on a 4yr lease, and they depreciate WAY slower than other brands. 2005's have 280 hp (up from 240) so they have loads of power.
The Acura TL is pretty rad for a car, if that's what you're looking for. I test drove one for kicks and they haul ass. They come with a GPS, voice activated stereo/climate control system so it will fullfill the techno-geek needs you may have.
Or for the hippie in some of us go for a Toyota Prius or Highlander hybrid...gutless as hell but they look great at Phish concerts

Does Isuzu still make rodeos?
Friend of mine bought an Xterra this summer. 2001 SE model with 15,000 km on it and absolute mint condition. $20,500

Is there a specific reason for the SUV? The size is nice but the handling, safety, and gas consumption can be issues.
I like the newer ones that aren't really SUVs, the Murano, Pacifica, Volvo V70 Crosscountry whatever, etc... They're more like bigger station wagons.

I bought a used 95 Chevy Beretta. Last year they made it. My uncle was the sales manager at a new and used car dealer ship, so I did get a good price for it. It had highway miles on it. I buy american cars (gee, I wonder why, could it be I'm from the US :P ). I'm not sure about the Nissan never bought any cars but american. They now have a lease of 6 years. I refuse to lease a car, but that's just my personal opinion. Anyway, good luck.

I just like the fact that they are a lot bigger. Rather than going out in a car that can barely fit four people in it I thought it would be nice to have a bigger car for when I go out with friends, or family.
I am not looking to spend more than 35, 000 the murano, and other cars that were mentioned are a little out of my price range.
