Default Site bandwidth graph..

A few in the game thread were asking if there were some graphs available with regards to site stats and stuff.. I don't want to give out full information, but I did crop one graph that is pretty interesting. This is the graph of the bandwidth usage over the past while.. you can see the up and down of every day, then you can see the huge spike from last night's game!

Good stuff. The new site is amazing. I poked my nose in to the game thread once or twice and didn't see any slow down. The new server is doing its job!

Why do you always look at stats like they tell the whole story??

Eh? So you want me to ask the server how it's feeling today? Or ask the Internet connection if it's feeling overworked recently? Maybe a little motivational speech for them?

LOL. don't forget to pat the server on the head.

Also kind of ironic the oiler fan saying stats aren't everything. Just kidding Dom your one of the good ones...if there is such a thing.

The really good news is that even with 300 concurrent users, during a non-televised game, the server wasn't even breaking a sweat.

If we do end up with an slow downs in the near future, it will be because we've filled up our bandwidth pipe (which is capped at 1.5 mbps). If bandwidth becomes an issue, we'll just increase our bandwidth to 3 mbps.

The current hardware should be able to handle 1000+ concurrent users without any noticeable performance degradation. I say this based on the experience of other Vbulletin sites with similar hardware configs.

Now, if every single online user were to do a keyword search at the same time...

... we'd still be fine. But it would definitely slow down!

A group hug should be more than sufficient.

I think you should at least figure out how many "hard" minutes the server is logging. I mean, the stats look great and everything--but for all we know, it might only be performing against other boards' checking servers. We want to know how our server stacks up against the first line server at Oilfans.
