Question Web Hosting Recommendations?

Can anyone recommend a good and reliable web hosting service?

Obviously the price will vary a lot depending on what kind of package you need, but of course, some just offer great value for your dollar. I want to transfer about five different websites (all currently hosted on my free shaw accounts) to a single location. I also want a few features like php and perhaps a few small database functions. Most are personal sites that get less than 10 hits per day, but I'll have one (for a small company) that might max out around 1200 per month.

It's easy to find about a zillion potential hosts by just googling, but I'm just wondering if anyone on the board uses someone they're particularily happy with.

I just signed up with Bluehost yesterday. It was a basic package (6.95/month for 2 yrs) just for a personal website. It said that it would take 1 to 2 business days to get my actual domain working for my site. But at around 6pm MT, they called me up, and confirmed my purchase, and got my domain working on the day that I bought it.

There's also Dreamhost, however I've heard that they have had issues with servers being down.

I'm not sure about hosts that can cater for a small company.

I'm using dreamhost and they're not bad, though they have had some issues with downtime with some of their servers and mail servers, but they do have a lot of servers.

www.webhostingtalk.com is a great site to go to to research specific web hosts.

I've used ipowerweb.net for a site over the last three years. Not sure how the price is on the market, but very good service, and a 24 hour phone line and live chat if anything should happen. Only had to use for very small issues.

Black Sun is really good. Very reliable and affordable. We had the Manitoba Moose website hosted there so it can definitely handle high volumes of traffic.
