Default Getting Bell HDTV, can I use my laptop screen?

Sorry if this is a noob question, I just haven't the slightest clue on how to work HDTV. So as the title says, I want to use my laptop screen for my HDTV. It's not a long term solution, just a short one until I can afford an LCD. My laptop screen is a Dell "15.4 inch UltraSharp Wide Screen SXGA+ Display with TrueLife" running XP Pro and I have USB 2.0, FireWire and pcmcia.

I was searching and found this :

http://www.fusionhdtv.co.kr/eng/Products/HDTV5usb.aspx

But it's talking about Over-The-Air. Can someone tell me if this would work with Bell HDTV, or another device that would? I don't need it to sync up or any features. Just a display

Thanks

You need one of these: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index.p...ctID=5823&SID=

It won't be HD but it will look pretty good.

That would be an awful way to watch HDTV... That's all I've got.

With this card you should be able to watch
Bell SD TV. You would use the composite and SVideo inputs on this device. You won't get true HD, but you can use a HD Bell reciever, because you'd need a DVI or HDMI or component inputs on this video card. I've been looking for a card with a DVI etc. input myself but I don't think the powers that be want us to use our computers as a HD recorder, which it would be.

I use a Samsung SyncMaster 940BW 19" LCD for a TV in my computer room. It has a DVI input and is HDCP compliant and works great off my Bell HD receiver. It costs about $260 and can also double as a computer monitor. If you have a DVI input on your laptop screen it may work also and you won't need that video card. If you have a SXGA input port, you may be able to find a DVI to SXGA cable.

If the Expressvu has a firewire out, this is the method for recording the stream and watching it:
